We are Andrew and Sharon Price and we welcome you to our web site.

Blank Canvas is a family run business based in the heart of the prestigious Montpellier Mews, Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

We offer you an amazing lifestyle product which makes for the perfect gift or self indulgence.

Blank Canvas evolved from our commercial design background. In 1994 we set up and established a design consultancy undertaking projects for some very high profile companies. We found working on projects for our interiors clients the most inspiring.

Six years ago, whilst looking for pictures for our new home we found it extremely difficult to find anything appropriate to adorn our many blank walls.

Deciding to turn 'given up looking' on its head, we started to produce our own pieces using the equipment that we already had for our design business.

We chose from our personal photograph collection, took photographs of our favourite scenes, scanned some beautiful images and patterns that we found and completed our 'blank canvas' of a home to something truly personal to us.

Our home 'collection' grew and as time went by friends who visited started asking us to produce 'pieces' for them including many personal photographs and drawings that were dear to them.

Coupled with our design background we started producing bespoke pieces, where we would slightly manipulate the artwork to create something even fresher and more unique. We found that we could take a photograph and give it a 'pop art' or 'illustrative' style or prepare a montage of someone's wedding for instance.

Each canvas is produced with the highest attention to detail using the best quality materials. The canvasses are varnished for extra durability and are colourfast for 75 years.

As time went by projects for friends turned into projects for clients and we soon found that we had to upgrade our facilities so that we could produce large format artworks including the ability to print onto canvas.

Printing on to canvas became our main forte to such an extent that we outgrew our home and set up our shop in the centre of Harrogate at the beginning of 2006.

Harrogate is a well know upmarket spa town in North Yorkshire. Harrogate people, although are very friendly, have a very discerning taste. Thankfully, this discerning lot liked our product!

The explosion of orders has been phenomenal and we have been recommended in prestigious magazines such as Elle Decoration and Homes and Interiors. We now receive many orders on a daily basis.

Customers have told us that our product and service is just what they have been looking for, as it allows them to unleash their personal photos or drawings and turn them into their unique piece of wall art.

Amazing creations have been produced of all sizes and have transformed living rooms, kitchens, playrooms, nurseries and even offices and shops.

It also allows our customers to create the perfect gift for a birthday, wedding or even just an 'I love you' gift for their friends and loved ones. One of our particular unique elements is our personal messaging service on the edge of the canvas which provides extra sentiment.

We love talking to people about the images that they want to convert into wall art as every picture tells its own story.

Some of our favourites are; a couple made it their mission in life to travel to the world's most stunning places and take a photograph of the sunset in each, so they have stunning canvasses of themselves with a beautiful sunset backdrop from Rome to Kenya and Switzerland to Bali.

A gentleman went to Italy and took a photograph of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and had it turned into a canvas.

A perfect gift for a guy from his girlfriend was a series of smaller images of him snowboarding down a mountain was created into one large long canvas.

Every project is different and we always love to see or hear about the reaction that the customer or recipient has once that they have unveiled their personal canvas.

Not only have they been received with thanks but on many occasion's tears as well! Many a time we have had reports about a tear shed at an 80 year old ladies birthday party when presented with canvases of herself on her wedding day and a montage of all her family, or of a new dad receiving a canvas of his baby daughter.
